“Analog” is the 4th album by Coreto

“Writing original music for a large jazz ensemble is challenging. Allowing for this music enough freedom for an improviser’s voice even more challenging. CORETO has achieved a brilliant balance between the written and the improvised. The music is full of surprises, colors and ideas and is beautifully served by inspired soloists. A rare feat in today’s culture !
Treat yourself to this music.”
liner notes by Ohad Talmor – composer / saxophonist
In Analog the music is entirely composed by João Pedro Brandão, exploring the imaginary suggested by the analog world, transposing its “noises” to the instrumentation of this ensemble of 12 musicians – echoes, resonances, a short circuit, the interference or the delay in a telephone communication, a message in Morse code, searching for a radio station, are the motto for the written composition that opens space for improvised moments, collective composition and solstice of each one of the elements of the group.

[…] Coreto presents another modern work of jazz that is as much cerebral and complex as it is frantic and vibrant.
– in Jornal Público (Ípsilon) 9 Fevereiro 2018
[…] Decidedly an edition to listen to over and over and have in your home´s bookcase.

[…] This is a masterfully-crafted long work in six parts and it has been cleverly conceived and even more cannily unfolded.
